What a space-tastic week we had last week! We learnt about our solar system and that there are planets, stars and a sun in space. We even helped a little boy get back from the moon when he was stuck!
In maths, we were weighing using different scales and learnt that big things aren’t always heavier than small things. This week, we will be learning about capacity and will be using interesting things to fill containers.
In phonics, we have now finished our handwriting and learnt the slider family (the trickiest of them all!) and learnt
k (start at the brave monkey down, bump, pen off, start at the scared monkey, slide in, slide out)
v (start at the scared monkey, slide down bump, slide up)
w ( start at the scared monkey, slide down bump, slide up, slide down bump, slide up)
z (start at the scared monkey, push across, slide down, push across)
x ( start at the scared monkey, slide down bump pen off, start at the scared monkey, slide down bump)
This week, the blog challenge is to weigh something using some scales, you could be cooking with your family, just playing or weighing yourself on some scales. Remember that the pictures that you send us are now added to your learning journals so send them to Sophielavender@rosendale.cc
Finally – the CHINA TOWN TRIP letter says that we are going to the Natural history museum but we are not – it is to China town. Please send in the reply slips ASAP.
Thanks everyone and send in those pictures!
