This week our Dino egg hatched and a baby Triceratops was born! In order to look after the new arrival we went on a fact finding mission to discover all we could about triceratops. We gathered so much information on triceratops we all wrote our own non fiction books on them!
In maths we learn about measures of time, scaling from the months of the year and days of the weeks to hours, minutes and seconds. Maybe you can set some time challenges at home, such as can you stand on one foot for 30 seconds or run on the spot for 1 minute!
In phonics this week we revisited the following diagraphs:
ss / snakes goes hiss
ll / bill on the hill
ff / huff and puff
zz / buzzing fast
ure / gold is pure
ur / don’t eat turf
Next week will be our second Rosendale Media Week. The theme this year is “Bringing stories to life”, and all the children will be creating articles for the school magazine and multimedia content themed around the books in Rosendale Book Club.
We will be looking at how stories are brought to life using different media, such as animation, film and digital art. In our class we will be looking a the book The Tiger Who Came To Tea. We also have some very exciting visitors coming to school from one of the most famous story tellers. You can follow the action on twitter by searching for #rosendalemediaweek17 The school magazine, Rosendale Voice, will be out at the end of the summer term. It will be jam packed with lots of fabulous writing and art, as well as links to all the multimedia content we make next week.
Have a lovely weekend!
