All we do is try our best!

For those of you who could not make the class assembly last Friday a video of the them all singing the song in our dress rehearsal is below. Miss Atkins came down to our class today for a private showing and thought they were all amazing!

Up Coming Trips and Helpers

We currently only have 4 parent volunteer for CP park on Tuesday 16th May and we need 6 parent helpers. If you are able to come along, please let us know. We will probably only be out of school for around 4 hours (10am-2pm) if that helps at all!

We now have 2 confirmed volunteers for the Waterloo Vaults on Friday 19th May so 5 more spaces left to grab a free ticket to a £25 show! It will most likely be a 10am leave and return by 2.30pm.

Is anyone crazy enough to double up and do both trips?!

Finally, don’t forget to book Friday 30th June off work, dig out that swimsuit and accompany your child to Broadstairs beach! Thank you to those who have already returned the letter. It would be handy to know who plans to take their child so we can work out a rough cost for the children travelling with school so please return those tick sheets asap.

Thanks everyone

Dinosaurs and 3d Shapes Decetives

We have been really busy this week because a special delivery has been made to RSL. It is a red box with an egg inside. At the moment, we don’t know what could be inside the egg but could it have something to do with our dinosaur topic? We will find out when the egg hatches – hopefully next week.  It has inspired lots of writing and there are signs up around the classroom to make sure it is kept safe!

We have also been learning lots of dinosaur facts and have been telling out partner all the facts we know. Maybe you could try and find out some new facts about dinosaurs at home that you can share with the class.

In maths, we have learnt about 3D shapes and can name and describe cube, cuboid, cone, sphere, cylinder and pyramid. We have been playing lots fo shape guessing and matching games and we have also been on a shape hunt around the school. We have really enjoyed sing this shape song to help us remember the names.

This week in phonics we have been revisiting the sounds below and focusing on idenfitying them as we sound out words when writing.

The challenge this weekend is to find 3d shapes in your home or the outdoor environment. Send a photo of you and the 3d shape to Miss Lavender  – sophielavender@rosendale.cc

Have a lovely weekend, I will keep an eye on the egg for you!!
